the pause between seasons

The sky feels soft and muted, a low curtain of light grey that makes every colour seem calmer and deeper. I walk slowly and feel the uneven warmth of the air on my face, as if the day is neither summer nor autumn but something in between, holding both for the smallest moments.

In this quiet balance, I notice the subtle hum of life around me, and it feels like the season is whispering something I have only just begun to understand.
