clearing winter light
The day opens bright and unmistakably wintery, sunlight pouring in with a clarity that feels rare this time of year. I lift the blinds and let the light take over the room, touching the leaves of the plants as I water them, settling on surfaces that have felt dull for weeks. I clean slowly, not to finish, but to stay with the feeling of the space changing, becoming lighter, calmer, more breathable. By the time I stop, the room feels cleared in more ways than one,
and I realise how much a simple shift in light can quietly rearrange the inside of a day.
